How much does a bag of self-leveling concrete cover?
A 50 lb bag of Quikrete Self-Leveling Floor Resurfacer yields about 0.45 cubic feet, so it covers about 21.6 square feet at ¼ inch deep (the data sheet says 21). A 10 × 10 ft room at ¼ inch takes 6 bags with 10% extra.
How to work it out
- 10 ft × 10 ft = 100 sq ft × 0.25 in + 10% = 2.29 cu ft
- ÷ 0.45 cu ft per bag = 6 bags (one bag covers 21.6 sq ft at this depth)
Coverage per bag is the number on every self-leveler bag, but it only holds at the stated depth. At ⅛ inch a bag goes twice as far; at ½ inch, half as far.

| Depth | Sq ft per 50 lb bag (0.45 cu ft) | Bags for 100 sq ft (+10%) |
|---|---|---|
| ⅛ in | 43.2 | 3 |
| ¼ in | 21.6 | 6 |
| ⅜ in | 14.4 | 8 |
| ½ in | 10.8 | 11 |
| ⅝ in (this product’s maximum) | 8.6 | 13 |
For a 10 × 10 ft room at an average of ¼ in, that is 100 sq ft × ¼ in = 2.08 cu ft, or 4.6 bags before extra and 5.1 with it — buy 6. The spare matters more here than with concrete: a self-leveler has to be poured continuously, and running out halfway leaves a ridge.
Deeper spots and other products
This product is rated from a feather edge to ⅝ in. For deeper fills, Quikrete’s fast-setting version goes to 1½ in. For an outdoor slab that is worn rather than out of level, a resurfacer such as Re-Cap (16 sq ft per 40 lb bag at ¼ in) is the usual choice. For a thicker overlay, the concrete bags per yard calculator shows how far regular mix goes, and once it is down, the concrete sealer calculator handles the finish.
